An update on LlwynywermodAn update on Llwynywermod
8 January 2025
We are delighted to share an update on the future of the Llwynywermod estate. The former Welsh home of HM King Charles III is now tenanted by Arusha Gallery.
Arusha is a contemporary art gallery that opened its main premises in Edinburgh in 2013. Envisioned as a gallery with additional expansive spaces for performance, retreats and workshops, Arusha at Llwynywermod will be launching an innovative and exciting calendar of shows and events beginning in the summer of 2025.
Set on the remarkable property in Carmarthenshire, the 192 acre site is steeped in quiet beauty, surrounded by a rich legacy of Welsh legend and history. International in scope, yet Welsh at its core, Arusha at Llwynywermod hopes to transform the cultural landscape of South West Wales with impactful and thought provoking programming, courses and exhibitions, promoting Wales as an exceptional destination for contemporary art, education, and culture.
Inspired by the renowned legacy of the legendary Physicians of Myddfai, the official launch will take place at Summer Solstice (June) 2025 and will centre around the world of plants. The launch will include an exhibition, lectures and workshops designed to inspire our spiritual relationship with plants as healers and teachers. The town of Myddfai near Llwynywermod has a storied association with the knowledge of healing plants that has been passed down through generations of local healers. The spectacular yet tranquil setting of Llwynywermod will showcase the breathtaking gardens and natural beauty of the area, providing an idyllic environment for learning, conversation and experience.
