• The Duchy of Cornwall has today announced a new partnership with Regenified, at Groundswell, supporting its ambition for 100% of equipped farms to follow regenerative principles by 2035.
• The partnership will give tenants fully funded access to Regenified’s 6-3-4 verification standard, helping farmers measure and demonstrate progress towards regenerative outcomes.
• The Duchy will fund participation for tenants who choose to join, and provide practical advice, direct funding and peer-to-peer learning through its Farming and Nature programme.
The Duchy of Cornwall has today announced a new partnership with Regenified to support its ambition for all equipped farms across the estate to follow regenerative principles by 2035.

Launched at Groundswell, this initiative forms part of the Duchy’s wider ambition and commitment to be a nature rich and net zero estate underpinning the long-term resilience and productivity of land, supporting jobs, health and prosperity.

As part of this, Duchy of Cornwall tenants will be supported and encouraged to take part in Regenified’s 6-3-4 verification standard, which provides a framework for measuring progress against regenerative farming principles.

Co-founded by leading voice in regenerative agriculture Gabe Brown, Regenified works with farmers and food businesses to measure and verify regenerative outcomes.

By providing funding and advice, the Duchy is making the programme accessible to farmers across the estate, whether an upland, lowland or island farm and whether they are on existing agreements or moving onto new tenancy arrangements.

The Regenified partnership launches alongside the Duchy’s new regenerative Farm Business Tenancy (rFBT), a long-term tenancy model designed to support more resilient, productive and nature-rich farming systems. The tenancy sets out how the Duchy will work with tenants to apply Regenerative Land Management principles in line with the Agricultural Landlord and Tenant Code of Practice. Monkhall Farm in Herefordshire, which is currently being offered as a flagship regenerative farming opportunity, is the Duchy’s first tenancy of this kind.

Alongside the new verification and tenancy model, the Duchy will continue to provide wider support through its Farming and Nature programme. This includes practical on-the-ground advice from specialist advisers, support accessing grants and agri-environment schemes, direct funding, peer-to-peer learning opportunities, farm walks, events and access to industry specialists.

Matthew Morris, Rural Director at the Duchy of Cornwall, said:
“Regenerative farming has an important role to play in building resilient, profitable farm businesses while improving soil health, biodiversity and the long-term condition of the land.

“At the Duchy, our ambition is for 100% of our equipped farms to be following regenerative principles by 2035, but we recognise that every farm is different and that this transition will take time. We’re delighted to be partnering with Regenified to support our tenants on this journey and give them the tools, advice and confidence to adopt regenerative practices, measure their progress and build more resilient farming businesses over time.

“Our new regenerative Farm Business Tenancy is another important step, particularly for tenants who are already well on their regenerative farming journey, providing a long-term framework to put regenerative farming principles into practice. Monkhall Farm will be the first tenancy of this kind, but we’re already seeing interest from other tenants who want to take a similar path. This gives us confidence that, by working closely with tenants, regenerative farming can become a defining part of the Duchy’s future.”
Salar Shemirani, CEO at the Regenified, added:
“Farmers are this country’s original custodians. For generations, they have fed us, shaped our landscapes and cared for the land. Regenerative agriculture is not a fixed destination, but a journey of continuous improvement - and that journey becomes far more powerful when farmers can measure, evidence and build on the progress they are making.

“We are delighted to partner with the Duchy of Cornwall to support its tenant farmers with practical tools to farm regeneratively, helping them build resilient, productive, profitable and nature-friendly businesses.

“For an organisation of the Duchy’s history and stature to back its farmers in this way sends an important signal: that producing good food, restoring nature and building profitable farming businesses are not competing aims.
They are the foundation of a more resilient future for British agriculture.”

Regenified’s approach focuses on measuring outcomes, including improvements in soil health and other indicators of regenerative progress. By providing a clear verification framework, the partnership will help farmers understand where their farms are today, track progress over time and demonstrate the value of regenerative farming.

The Duchy will also provide training for staff on Regenified verification and run webinars for farm tenants this autumn to explain what the partnership, verification process and new tenancy approach mean in practice.
