The Duchy is delighted to announce for the second-year running, it will be sponsoring the Education and Learning Award at the Royal Forestry Society’s Excellence in Forestry Awards (EIF).
For 140 years, the Royal Forestry Society (RFS) has been at the heart of championing good woodland management. Since its founding, the RFS has brought together landowners, foresters, arborists and woodland enthusiasts to share practical knowledge, pass on skills, and ensure that generations continue to learn from one another. Its mission has always been clear: to celebrate the art and science of managing woodlands well.
Today, the RFS’ Excellence in Forestry Awards stand as the leading forestry competition across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. These awards shine a spotlight on outstanding woodland management, innovative practice, and excellence in forestry education and learning, recognising the people and projects that are helping shape the future of our forests.
RFS has just opened applications for its 2026 EIF Awards, offering prizes across five categories, with the Duchy of Cornwall joining as a co-sponsor of the Education and Learning Award for 2026.
This award is open to all forestry-related education and training providers, from forest schools to universities and colleges. Last year, Children of the Forest was commended for its original approach to education and efforts to employ sound management practices in its woodland ‘classroom’.
